Vicki Butler, Charge Nurse
While I’m often referred to as wife, mom, Nana and friend, I am Vicki Butler, a compassionate nurse with a deep love for the field of fertility who relies on faith for guidance. I began my career as a medical surgical nurse, then through a personal journey with a family member, I found my true calling to help those with infertility. So, here I am doing something that I hold near to my heart. I am a nurse, but not just any nurse. I hope to be your nurse: To coach, listen, provide a shoulder to cry on and help you navigate the intricacies of your own personal fertility journey.
Brittany Linton, Nurse Practitioner
My career in nursing began in 2011, where I worked as a med-surg nurse in Baytown, Texas. We were stationed in Texas for my husband’s military assignment. While stationed there, I had a very close friend go through the IVF process. After helping her with her injections for IVF, going to doctor’s appointments with her, and seeing her babies born from the process, I knew that my dream job was to help others with infertility like my friend.
In 2015, we moved back to Mississippi to be closer to family. Well, guess what? I got the dream job of being a fertility nurse! There is nothing quite like being there for someone on their journey to parenthood. After realizing how much I loved the fertility field and while still working with Dr. Parry, I decided to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner so that I was able to do even more at the clinic. I completed the RN-MSN program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in May of 2020 and am now certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
I absolutely LOVE my patients and view them as a family! My number one goal is to give them as much knowledge as possible about their fertility in a way that is simple for them to understand. When I am not at my work home, I enjoy spending time with my high school sweetheart, Justin, and our two kids, Claire and John Ryan along with our extended family. Being outdoors and boating are two of our favorite things to do. I look forward to being by your side during the most rewarding journey of your life.
Sara Slaton, Nurse Practitioner – Shreveport
My career in nursing began in Ruston, LA in 2013 after I graduated from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. After working just a few years as a nurse in labor and delivery and postpartum, I made the decision to go back to school at the University of Louisiana- Lafayette. In 2017, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner and thankfully continued to work in office gynecology. For three years, I worked as a nurse practitioner at Ochsner LSU-Monroe in the OB/GYN clinic.
My call to work in fertility came when I personally faced my own infertility. There is so much more hope than many realize. Focusing on fertility as a nurse practitioner became a wonderful way of helping myself and others. My number one goal is to make sure each person going through this process feels comfortable and understands that we are here for them in every part of this journey. My husband, Bobby, and I are both South Louisiana natives and share 3 dogs and a teenage son. With the two-week wait and more, I know how hard this journey can be. I feel so lucky to be a part of a great team and look forward to helping you personally!
Lauren Furlow, RN
I have been a registered nurse since 2010 and I’ve worked in a variety of fields, but my passion is for women’s health. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with my Bachelors in Biology in 2008 and my Bachelors in Nursing in 2010. I’ve worked in med-surg, labor and delivery, intensive care, and a neuro intensive care. When my family and I moved back to Mississippi I was ecstatic to find my home away from home at Positive Steps Fertility. As a mother of two, I know how important my family is to me and I enjoy helping others to find their way to parenthood. I also enjoy helping women gain an understanding of their health and the many ways that we can improve not only their fertility, but also their wellness.
Dana Croxdale, RN
My career as an RN began 15 years ago after graduating from Northwest Community College. Shortly after graduating, I began my 10-year career in the Emergency Department. Following the decade in the ER, I wanted to move into more one-on-one patient care and went into clinic-based Cardiology.
I am a north Mississippi native but moved near the Jackson area about 10 years ago. My husband and I share a 12-year-old daughter. I truly know the importance of having a family due to mine being my biggest blessing. I want to be a part of helping others achieve this. I became a nurse because I had a passion for caring for people and making a difference in their lives. This is one of the huge reasons I felt called to work in infertility. I love now being excited to come to work every day. I am truly thankful to be a part of the Positive Steps Fertility team.
Cynthia Trejo, CMA
I am a certified medical assistant and I graduated with honors from Virginia College. I am originally from Laredo Texas deep in southern Texas right next to the Mexican border. I currently reside in Jackson MS with my husband Samuel. I am bilingual and I embrace it because I get to help those that need the help to get medical care. I have a deep love for the infertility field due to my own personal journey with infertility. I see our patients as family and I am here to give a helping hand. It is a privilege and a blessing to be able to be a part of your journey.
Lisa Dorman, Lab Director
My career started with an associate’s degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and I quickly realized that I loved working in the laboratory. I continued my career by achieving a bachelor’s degree in medical technology, followed by a master’s and then Ph.D. in clinical health sciences, and I am now certified as a MLS(ASCP), TS(ABB), HCLD(ABB). I am a “hands-on” laboratory director in embryology and andrology and very focused on patient quality and outcomes. Though native to Arkansas, Mississippi is now my home. I left Mississippi for Colorado for five years to advance my skills and knowledge in embryology. Colorado is a great place to live, but my husband and I decided to move home to Mississippi to be near our friends and family. I hope to help you on your
Mandy Nichols, Embryologist
I received my Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Mississippi State University in 2003, and later graduated with a Master of Science in clinical health science from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. Although my two degrees came from rivaling schools, I was born and raised a Bulldog and will forever bleed maroon and white (GO DAWGS)! My husband and I both grew up in Madison, and we loved it here so much that we decided to make it our home to raise our four boys here, too.
Knowing how important my family is to me, I also know the struggle that some people go through to have families of their own. I was introduced to embryology and fell in love with the IVF laboratory early in my career as a medical laboratory scientist. But then after working 12 years in clinical microbiology (my other love), I was presented with the opportunity to return to a career in embryology, and I jumped at the opportunity – I knew that’s what I was being called to do. I feel blessed to work with such an amazing team doing such extraordinary and rewarding work, and I’m so excited to be back in the field of reproductive medicine, helping patients grow their families as a junior embryologist at Positive Steps Fertility.
Amanda Strange, Andrologist
I attended Mississippi College and received my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I plan to further my education with a Master’s in Embryology. It was during my time at MC that I discovered my love for the lab, and it is now an honor to work in the lab here at Positive Steps every day!
I am originally from a small town in Kentucky, and while I will always bleed blue, I have found my home in Mississippi with my two fur babies. I take great pride in having the opportunity to work in reproductive medicine and I look forward to being a part of your fertility journey as your Andrologist.
Tracy Boone, Patient Experience Coordinator
I am a Madison native and thrilled to be working in my hometown. I have been in the healthcare field for over 25 years and am passionate about helping people. I am here to welcome you to our family—over the phone and as you arrive at our clinic.
Some of my favorite things to do are photography and shopping, but what my husband, Phillip, and I enjoy most is spending time with our family, which is why I can understand how much others want to have their own. My family is my heart and each and every one of them means the world to me. I look forward to meeting you and helping you start your own piece of happiness as you begin your journey with us here at Positive Steps Fertility.
Lindsey Patrizzi, Patient Scheduling Coordinator
I have worked in the medical field since 2013 and though my focus is on communication and your experience, I am also a Certified Medical Assistant through the NCCT. Being able to walk this journey with our patients is such an honor and privilege. I love what I do and being able to experience that daily with the Positive Steps team is amazing!
I am originally from South Jackson and now live in Flowood with my husband, Chase, and our two daughters. Outside of work I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with my family. My girls, Bellia and Haven, are the highlights of my life. They keep us on our toes and there is never a dull moment when we’re with them! I am so thankful for my home family and work family and I cannot wait for you to become a part of the family as well!
Megan Blanchard, Patient Experience Coordinator – Shreveport
I am originally from Bastrop, Louisiana, and just relocated to the Shreveport area from Baton Rouge. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe and my master’s from Capella University. My husband, Phil, and I met in college and we spend our free time together with our dog, Jovi who is the light of our lives. I enjoy giggling with my two sisters, grandmother, and mom and reading and playing with my nieces and nephew.
I love working at Positive Steps because of how quickly they became a family to me as a patient struggling with infertility. I look forward to helping others feel welcome and safe as they start building their family at PSF Shreveport!
Kyoshi Richardson, Communications Director
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Mississippi College in 2017 and will soon receive a Master’s in Integrated Communications. My husband and I are from Clinton, MS, and are happy to still call the Jackson metro area home. Together we have one daughter, Olivia, and two dogs, Sam & Cooper. My spare time is spent doing photography, laughing with friends & family, and as an active member of my church.
Helping others has always been a passion of mine, but to do it in this capacity, this field, and with an amazing team means so much more. I look forward to seeing each of you have the baby of your dreams!
Melissa Harris, Practice Manager
I’ve been caring for patients medically since 2003 and love the special relationships that I’ve built over that time. I’ve recently transitioned into an administrative role, but I’m still passionate about creating great results. I’m originally from Greenville but live in Brandon with my husband, Steven and our chocolate lab, Ellie. We love animals and the outdoors. My favorite pastimes are cooking, baking and traveling. I’m so excited to be a part of Positive Steps Fertility. The possibilities here are endless!
